How Racism Makes us Sick
David R. Williams is a TED talker who's video is called, "How Racism Makes us Sick". I felt this video was dull, repetitive, confusing, but still intellectual. He talked about how racism can lead to bad health, because of the way people are treated. It took me a while to figure it out, but what Davis is trying to say is people who are treaded badly feel bad. Peoples health relies on how they are treated as human beings. A very scary fact I learned was over 200 black people die everyday because of how they are treated differently than everyone else, . Another fact was, every 7 minutes a black person dies prematurely. I know that blacks are not the only ones who face discrimination in the world today, but these are very devastating facts to me as a premature black person myself. Him bringing up that fact easily caught my attention, because of the relation I personally have to that. David is a man who wants to put an end to discrimination, inequality, and racism. I also want all of these horrible things to come to an end.
