What Makes Life Worth Living in the Face of Death
A TED talker named Lucy Kalanithi made a video called, 'What Makes Life Worth Living in the Face of Death". Personally, I felt the video was inspiring, humorous, but repetitive. She talked about living life to the fullest, and not to focus on the bad things that happen. Even when things get tough, still try to find the best in things. What Lucy did that really caught my attention was telling a sad story about her story. She said he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, but he still always tried to make good of everything that was happening to him. Another thing that grabbed my attention was the jokes she made about some funny things her husband did. The story she told about him was very moving to me. Lucy presented herself as a woman who is saddened by her husbands death, but still very passionate about the point she is trying to get across. Her story relates to me because I have a medical condition myself. Although it isn't as severe as stage 4 cancer, I still feel pain. A good point was made when she said she knows her family isn't the only one going through this. She knows that many families go through much worse than she did. This showed me that when I'm hurting to make the best of everything, because there are people out there going through a lot worse.
